Explanation of Generational Healing

Blessings from God flow through every family, but since the fall of Adam and Eve, the effects of sin have touched every family. Those who came before us provide us with an inheritance. Just as physical characteristics are passed from generation to generation (such as your mother's eyes or dad's nose), so too are patterns of behavior (creativity, stubbornness, etc.), illnesses, and spiritual effects. Our spiritual inheritance is based on the blessings and sins of our ancestors and the effects of these blessings and sins on the present generation. (See Exodus 20:5-6; Deuteronomy 27-29; 2 Kings 17:7-14).

The effects of sin have been present since the original sin of Adam and Eve. As generation upon generation passes, the effects of sin continue and compound. Many of the difficulties we see in families today are a result of the effects of sin, our own and those of our ancestors.

God's power can heal the effects of these sins. We need to prepare to receive God's healing (through confession and prayer), then offer a Eucharist focused on healing the family through the generations.

Many have received God's blessings and been healed of problems in family relationships, illnesses, addictions, and emotional wounds through a Generational Healing Mass.

Generational Healing Mass

In Lamentations 5:7 it states: "Our forefathers have sinned and are now dead, and we bear their punishment." The Healing of the Family Tree is directed to lifting this punishment or bondage of body, mind or spirit; and this is done by applying The Healing Power of the Eucharist.

The core of the Healing Service is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass celebrated for the intention of healing these bondages that are trans generational in one's family tree.

Nothing in the liturgy is changed in the Mass. At the close of the Mass a post-Communion prayer is recited by the priest with the congregation, praying for the healing of all family members of the congregants, living, deceased, and even for those who don't yet exist for their preventative healing.

There is a distinction between sin and the effects of sin. Only original sin – not personal sin – is inherited, as Paul teaches in Romans 5:12. But the Bible teaches that sin's counterpart, the effects of sin – punishment – in the form of suffering, illness; inclination toward sinful habits, addictions, etc. can be inherited.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with Communion, in both its personal and communitarian dimensions is the most powerful means of healing any disorder especially the family's trans generational bondages that Scripture refers to.
